Dean Henderson insists he is ready to compete to become Manchester United’s number one goalkeeper. He didn’t want to just be David de Gea’s coating.
Henderson returned to United this season after serving an outstanding two-season loan spell at Sheffield United. In the 2019/2020 Premier League, he managed to carve 13 clean sheets.
These notes are the same as those recorded by De Gea at MU. The 23-year-old goalkeeper is also part of the Red Devils’ long-term project by getting a contract extension until 2025.
The arrival enlivened the competition in the Manchester goalkeeping position previously occupied by De Gea and Sergio Romero. Henderson admitted that he was not afraid to fight for the number one position under the Red Devils’ crossbar
Henderson doesn’t want to just be De Gea’s cover. The man from Spain himself has been Manchester United’s main goalkeeper since the 2011/2012 season.
“100 percent of my target is to play football next season. I don’t want to not play after the good momentum last season,” Henderson was quoted as saying. Mirror.
