Brittany. A horde of wild boars devastates a football field and a golf course in Morbihan

The damage is impressive. During the night of Monday 28 to Tuesday 29 September, wild boars damaged a football field in Gestel (Morbihan). The horde was made up of about fifteen animals according to witnesses, reports West France.

On photos, we see the land savagely “plowed” by the passage of animals. The mayor of the town believes that the space will be impassable for several months, the time that specialists intervene and restore the lawn. In the meantime, the elected official contacted the local hunting society to organize a hunt.

Golfers are mobilizing

The football field had already been damaged by the passage of travelers in August. The “repair” of the land had cost between 3,000 and 4,000 euros. After the passage of the wild boars, the cost of restoring the land is estimated between 5,000 and 6,000 euros.

Last week, the same horde of wild boars damaged several areas of a golf course not far from Gestel, in Plœmeur. The club then appealed to its members and regulars to “save the course”. Athletes will put their hands in the dirt on October 5th to find beautiful greens.
