Andy Cole sends advice to three Manchester United players

Manchester United strikers Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood will continue to thrive as long as they work for each other, according to Andy Cole.

The former United striker won the Treble under Sir Alex Ferguson in 1999 and earned a reputation for half a lethal blow at Old Trafford paired with Dwight Yorke.

He believes that Martial, Rashford and Greenwood, whose number of goals between them last season was among Europe’s best in terms of forward trio, will only improve.

“They are all young and energetic, have good pace and can score goals,” Cole told United’s official website.

“I can see them being at Manchester United for many years and hopefully with those guys contributing more goals, and from wide areas, so hopefully, this season, we’ll be up there trying to win some silver.”

Cole believes teamwork is the key to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top three chemistry. Rashford and Martial have a good friendship, while Greenwood is following in Rashford’s footsteps as the next big talent to emerge from United academy.

“If you have the opportunity to score goals and contribute to the team and help your teammates, then go for it,” was Cole’s advice.

“Being at Manchester United, you have to be a team player. It’s not just about you as the individual scoring as many goals as possible, you have to play everyone.

“They [the relationships] are fundamental. And those three seem to have a great relationship off the pitch too.

“I love watching the kids play in the front row now, it seems like everyone is having fun and they seem very close when they play together now, which is great to see.”
