Presumably, the eleven-time world champion got infected at a party on his 34th birthday on Friday last week. In a video clip that was published on his Instagram account, Bolt reported that he had no symptoms of the disease so far: “I will now stay in quarantine and inform my friends that they will too.”

Bolt’s party guests also included Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga professional Leon Bailey and Raheem Sterling, who is under contract with Manchester City in the Premier League.

The exact circumstances surrounding Bolt’s birthday party are now being investigated by the local authorities. So far, 1612 infections and 16 deaths have been officially registered on the Caribbean island.
