NASHVILLE, Tennessee – The Titans away linebacker Vic Beasley, who had not attended camp since early July 28, arrived at the team’s premises for COVID-19 testing on Friday morning.
The team had not heard from Beasley since training camp opened, and general manager Jon Robinson released a statement last week saying Beasley’s absence was without excuse but that he would do a report soon.
Beasley was sentenced to a mandatory fine of $ 50,000 per day, resulting in a fine of $ 500,000 after missing 10 days. He will need three negative COVID-19 tests over a four-day period before he can enter the facility. The Titans have a trailer outside the facility for testing.
If his tests come back negative, there’s a good chance he’s on the pitch when the Titans start training next week. Not missing any fieldwork is crucial for Beasley, who signed a one-year, $ 9.5 million contract with the Titans in March.
Outside linebackers coach Shane Bowen said staff have been working hard during the offseason to keep Beasley up to date.
“Honestly, we probably met him a lot more one-on-one than in a group, even because all the other guys have been here,” Bowen said. “So we’re trying to sort of add and extend level 100 learning to level 200 learning, so to speak.”
The Titans are counting on Beasley to team up with Harold Landry to boost their passing rush this season.
