The Mole reports Warriors rookie Halfback for debut, injury crisis

The carnage at the Warriors will give Kiwi fans a glimpse into the future when they clash with the last placed Canterbury on Sunday.

The Warriors lost three other players to injury in a brutal midweek training session. The halves Chanel Harris-Tavita and Adam Keighran hit hard on the heads and the formidable winger / center Patrick Herbert tore an Achilles tendon.

Broad world of sport has learned that Harris-Tavita and Keighran are both out – with interim coach Todd Payten as the result of blood boom youngster Paul Turner.

Turner, a Junior Kiwi rep, is considered to be potentially the Warriors’ best halfback since the great Stacey Jones.

The 20-year-old was not supposed to play in the NRL this season, but the injury crisis that saw Payten put in over 30 players has forced the coach’s hand.

The talented number seven is ripe beyond his years and many consider him the long-term partner of Harris-Tavita or Nikorima.

Incoming Warriors trainer Nathan Brown is sure to keep a close eye on the rookie’s performance for the next season.
