Seattle Seahawks re-sign RB Patrick Carr and WR Seth Dawkins

For most of the week, the Seahawks worked with three spots open. Before training on Friday, two of those three places were occupied.

Seattle has re-signed two members of their 2020 UDFA class, the team announced on Friday. Running back Patrick Carr and wide receiver Seth Dawkins returned to the Seahawks after being retired at the end of July. The pair were part of the Seattle Cups to jump from 90 to 80 spots before training camp.

Carr, a University of Houston product, enters the NFL relatively fresh, having totaled just 237 touches in three seasons.

The 5’9 ”, 205-pound runner returns to the Seahawks just days after compatriot UDFA RB Anthony Jones was called off. The team had to add a running back with Chris Carson away from the team due to a personal matter and Rashaad Penny was unable to participate.

In four seasons at the University of Louisville, Dawkins had 94 catches, 1,510 yards and nine touchdowns, his best season yet to come in 2017 – catching passes from Lamar Jackson. Dawkins joins a large, crowded receiving body, which includes another UDFA at Aaron Fuller.

Even after Friday’s signings, Seattle only has one spot on the list.
