Oh Inkyun’s Ten Years Career In Indonesia Ends

Oh Inkyun finally had to part with Arema FC, and set a pension.

Oh Inkyun’s long career in Indonesian football finally stopped this year. The South Korean midfielder officially parted ways with Arema FC and set to retire.

Inkyun’s decision to hang up his shoes is known from uploads via his personal Instagram account. It is known that the former Persib Bandung was released by Arema, who recruited him only in 2020.

Inkyun has been an explorer of the archipelago since he first landed in Indonesia, from PS Bengkulu, PSMS Medan, to Persipura Jayapura. The time that was not short in Indonesia was clearly very lasting.

“From 2010, starting from Sumatra, Java, Papua, Kalimantan, I have almost ten years of playing football in a country I like. I am very happy and have had many extraordinary experiences while in Indonesia,” wrote Inkyun.

“Many memories start from football and friends, or people who are busy. I thank the people who always support or help me,” continued the 35-year-old player.

Since 2007, Inkyun has been pursuing a career in professional football, until finally breaking his dream in Southeast Asia with the Singaporean club, Balestier Khalsa. From there, he crossed over to play in Indonesia.

This former Chungju Hummel admits that Indonesia is the most beautiful and memorable place for playing round skin. However, the option to retire after ten years of enjoying Indonesia is something that must be done.

“I certainly can say that in the most beautiful football career, and the most experience I get is in Indonesia. Starting today (23/8) I want to talk about hanging up my shoes. Not because I’m lazy or anything,” he wrote.

“But I have to think ‘second life’, second life. Starting from PS Bengkulu, PSMS, Persela, Persegres, Mitra Kukar, Persib Bandung, Persipura Jayapura, Arema. All my teams can’t forget.”

“And when I play I always play with enthusiasm and heart. So I don’t forget even one team. I always pray for the people and Indonesian football to progress, and be healthy. Goodbye. See you again!”
