FLANNO REQUESTS ANSWERS AFTER KYLE IS DROP
Kyle Flanagan’s demotion at the Sydney Roosters made waves when the young gun playmaker sought out coach Trent Robinson to see if he had been dropped or rested.
The answer was that the rookie halfback had been dropped in favor of Lachlan Lam, son of roosters champion Adrian Lam.
It becomes more interesting that the Roosters would play in Round 13 against St. George Illawarra, the club where Flanagan’s father Shane is assistant coach.

Shane Flanagan also phoned Rooster’s trainer Robinson to clarify why Kyle had been dropped last week.
Kyle Flanagan is under contract with the Roosters until the end of next season, but rumors are already running that the No. 7 may look elsewhere beyond this season.
Aside from Lam’s good form, the Roosters also have 18-year-old Sam Walker waiting to make his half-debut.
Could we see another situation for Ivan and Nathan Cleary in St. George Illawarra with Shane and Kyle Flanagan next year?
BIKIE BARBER NOT PANGAIS ONLY CLOSURE
The problem for Tevita Pangai Jnr is that the COVID violation at the Bikies barber shop wasn’t his first rodeo when it came to breaking the bubble.
The NRL Integrity Unit has a number of examples of Pangai Jnr blowing the bladder. The Broncos bubble, the NRL bubble, the household bubble.
Fair dinkum, it’s hard to keep up with all the bubbles. It’s a bubble.
Pangai is unlikely to return to the NRL this season as he visits a number of restaurants and cafes outside the bubble.
The Broncos are expected to terminate his contract in the coming days.
The New Zealand Warriors and Wests Tigers seem like the most logical options for the Brisbane Broncos to land in the next season.
The Tigers need an Enforcer, while Warrior Recruiting Chief Peter O’Sullivan has a strong bond with Pangai.

MARY’S FUTURE SHARE THE RED V.
It’s a big 48 hours for Paul McGregor and the St. George Illawarra Dragons. The joint venture board tends to fire Mary after the eel game on Friday night. The Dragons on the board – Peter Doust, Ralph Piggott, Craig Young, and Peter Black – are all in favor of ending McGregor’s seven-year term. The joint venture club’s WIN side – Andrew Gordon, Andrew Lancaster, Craig Osborne, and Graeme Gulloch – isn’t quite as tough, but it’ll only take one of them to swing the ax. The Dragons still have to pay McGregor around $ 400,000 – half of his contract for the next season.
SAM STEERS ON THE WAY TO A COACHING CAREER
BIG Sammie Burgess has made a colossal impression since joining the Bubble in South Sydney in June and appears destined to pursue a career as head coach.
The Bunnies have won four out of six since Burgess returned to Redfern full time, and the Souths players all feed on the club champion’s presence.
It’s not uncommon for Burgess to get players up to speed and lead field sessions, especially in the absence of seven-time coach Wayne Bennett, who has won the Premier League.
The Bunnies say they won’t pursue sacked Broncos striker Tevita Pangai despite his strong relationship with Bennett from her time in Brisbane.
MADGE RECALL FOR LUCKY LUKE
The WESTS Tigers senior players negotiated a win after upset coach Michael Maguire to pick backrower Luke Garner to start Sunday’s duel against the Bulldogs.
A hugely popular member of the Tigers team and a damn good striker, Garner was one of the victims of Maguire’s relentless accusation of winning and instantly winning.
Against the Warriors Garner made 43 tackles, but was dropped for the 13th round against Newcastle due to missing three tackles.
We are a huge fan of Maguire and how he is a proven Premiership winner in the NRL and UK Super League.
His intensity, work ethic and will to win are impossible not to disregard. But the Tigers trainer has to find a little flex in implementing his methods.
The Tigers are all ready for what Madge wants to achieve at Concord – but the manager needs to learn from his successes and failures in South Sydney.
FITZY LEAVES WARRIORS WHO STAY WITH BONDI
Rooster’s assistant coach and club champion Craig Fitzgibbon’s shares continue to rise.
Two months after the New Zealand Warriors tried to recruit him as head coach in 2021, the North Queensland Cowboys also had a rift.
The Cowboys were so excited about Fitzy that they offered him the gig, no interview necessary.
But the Roosters Premiership winner has a handshake agreement with Chairman Nick Politis and intends to keep his word.
The Cowboys are expected to make an announcement of a new trainer next month.
PANTHERS ‘NUMBER ONE PRIORITY
The Penrith Panthers may not have James Tedesco or Tom Trbojevic in their No. 1 sweater, but they are flush with young gun defenders.
The Panthers first defender for the final, assuming he is fit, will most likely be Dylan Edwards.
Right behind him sits Caleb Aekins, and among them the Panthers have the Forbes Ferrari Charlie Staines and the young gun Daine Laurie.
Talk about options.
Two panthers guaranteed to attract the Bulldogs’ attention are young gun playmaker Matt Burton and arsonist Jack Hetherington.
The duo are both under contract until the end of 2021 but will be able to submit offers from rival clubs from November 1.
Nine balls of the week
We sincerely hope that Panthers chairman Dave O’Neill was over an extremely long, liquid lunch when he came up with the ingenious concept of waiting 24 hours for the coaches’ press conferences after the NRL games.
Hellooooooo. The reason Fox Sports and Channel 9 are bringing in $ 270 million annually for the broadcast deal is to give fans the best possible access to the game. Rugby League is an emotional game. Buy a ticket and drive off. The censorship of coaches up to 24 hours after the end of the game makes the grand finale for stupid ideas.
