Maria Sharapova may be retired from the pro tennis circuit, but that hasn’t stopped her from training hard while keeping her body in tip-top shape in the Florida sun.

The former world number 1, who won all four Grand Slam tennis tournaments – including two French Open titles – during his distinguished career on the court, has announced his retirement following his exit from the Australian Open. in February.

But the 33-year-old, who now resides in Florida, USA, continues to train and has shared a series of videos on her Instagram showing her keeping fit during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Her latest post saw her repeatedly slam a medicine ball to the floor and perform single-leg squat thrusts on a gym mat while on a sun-drenched American football field.

He also performed lunches and ran up the steps of the venue’s stands, while the video of his training regimen was accompanied by “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” By Justin Timberland.

Sharapova’s accompanying message allowed her followers to get up early and destroy their personal goals as she posted, “Early risers catch the worm. #DoNutStop #FitandLit”

Her post attracted more than 100,000 likes and thousands of comments complimenting her on her efforts and physique.

One published, “You retired from tennis and you are still in good shape”, while another gushed, “Fitness is a habit, not a chore. Great !!”

The US Open will begin on August 31 in Flushing Meadow, New York, with players ready to compete in a bio-safe “bubble” during the tournament.

The field has been hit with a number of retirements, including the sport’s two best female players, Ash Barty and Simona Halep, while last year’s male champion Rafael Nadal also announced his non-attendance at the event.
