Borussia Dortmund faced further embarrassment after Sebastian Kehl, head of the authorized players division, reiterated that Jadon Sancho would remain at the club.
Manchester United have not given up on signing the £ 108m Sancho 20 after Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said the decision was “final” that the England international would not be sold.
United are frustrated by the slow pace of negotiations with Dortmund through agent Marco Lichtsteiner, brother of the former Juventus and Arsenal defender Stephan. Sources at the club say it is “unusual” for Dortmund to have hired an intermediary to act on their behalf.
Sancho’s wage demands and agent rates have been described as a “hindrance” during ongoing negotiations, but Kehl has again reached the club’s line by reiterating that Sancho is not going anywhere.
“It was important to clarify the subject”, Kehl told SID. “We know Jadon’s attractiveness but also his importance to us. He gives our team that extra something. We are happy that he stays.”
