Liverpool’s Thiago transfer offensive is expected as the star will leave Bayern Munich

Sources in Germany assume that Liverpool will go on the offensive for Thiago Alcantara in the near future as the Reds remain closely linked to the Champions League winners.

Thiago played 86 minutes in the final of the flagship event in European football on Sunday, where his team from Bayern Munich beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the second half thanks to a header game by Kingsley Coman.

The days since that win have been celebrated with teammates and family, but any suggestion that the win could lead to a change of heart for the midfielder has been declared far from the mark in the German media.

The chief reporter from Sport Bild claims that no one at Bayern, from coach Hansi Flick to the board of directors, has received a hint that Thiago wants to stay with the club for the remaining year of his contract.

After he apparently decided to move to Liverpool some time ago, it is now up to Jürgen Klopp and Red’s sporting director Michael Edwards to submit an offer.

This is expected in Germany “in the coming days”, as the Reds are allegedly asked to pay around £ 27 million for the 29-year-old.

One man anticipating the move is former Liverpool and Bayern midfielder Dietmar Hamann, who says Thiago would be a great addition to the Reds.

“I would be very surprised if he refused a contract with Bayern Munich if he had nothing else,” said the German talkSPORT.

I’m sure he got an offer from Liverpool, it’s probably about the transfer fee now.

“I never felt like he was a defensive midfielder or a sustaining midfielder, but he was absolutely great. The way he pulled things together [against PSG]and he’s a brilliant footballer.

“He can add a new and different dimension to Liverpool midfield. I would be surprised if it doesn’t end up in Liverpool. “
