Jordan Henderson injury update as Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ponders Leeds United selection

Jurgen Klopp remains confident that Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson will be fit for the start of the Premier League season.

Henderson has not played for the first team since his knee injury in the Brighton and Hove Albion win on July 8th.

The midfielder recently attended the training camp in Austria where he continued his individual rehabilitation with Joel Matip, who is recovering from a foot problem.

Klopp assumes that both will train fully again in the coming days. The Reds are preparing to begin their home defense against Leeds United on September 12.

Henderson was removed from England’s newest roster so he could continue working on his fitness.

The majority of Liverpool players who missed the Community Shield loss to Arsenal on Saturday will train at Melwood on Sunday.

This group includes Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has not played since the return of the Reds squad and missed the trip to Austria due to an injury.
