After Marc Diakiese, a naturalized British Congolese, and Dalcha Lungiambula, who lives in South Africa, there is now a third fighter from the DRC at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the benchmark in mixed martial arts. Impa Kasanganay has in fact landed a contract with the UFC, winning his seventh pro MMA fight on August 11. The native of the United States defeated Anthony Adams by unanimous decision of the judges, during the Dana White Contender Series 2020, a competition used to find new talent. For his first outing at the UFC middleweight, the man nicknamed “Thsilobo” will face Mark Pitolo on August 22 in Las Vegas.
