Hiddink is shocked by commotion in Curaçao and ‘only signs when everything has been dealt with’

An apparently laudable attitude by Hiddink, but according to Bicentini he shouldn’t wash his hands in innocence either. “I am very disappointed in Guus Hiddink”, the 52-year-old trainer writes in a (digital) letter entitled ‘My honest story’.

Bicentini, who describes the past few days as “the toughest of my life”, tells about an informal conversation between him and Hiddink in February, in which he asked Hiddink if he saw a role as a consultant. “‘I’m going to think about it,’ was his literal text at the end of the conversation,” writes Bicentini.

‘Guus played a game’

Hiddink then did not hear from him again, after which Bicentini was told in recent days that the deal between the Curaçao football association and Hiddink had already been closed in January. “A month before I had a conversation with him about his possible advisory role. So he played a game with me.”

Bicentini: “From respectful to disrespectful, that is my feeling about Hiddink now. If you have such a track record and spoke to me in February, you still pick up the phone and call me and ask what hand? He’s had seven months for it. “
