Ewan claims Tour de France, third stage, Alaphilippe retains the overall lead

SISTERON, France (Reuters) – Asutralier Caleb Ewan won the third stage of the Tour de France on Monday, a 198 km hilly ride along the foothills of the Alps.

Ireland’s Sam Bennett finished second.

The French Julian Alaphilippe kept the yellow jersey of the overall leader.

The fourth stage on Tuesday is a 160.5 km long route from Sisteron to Orcieres-Merlette for the first summit of the race.
