Darryl Strawberry stands for Trump RNC speech

Former New York Mets and Yankees thug Darryl Strawberry is in the audience for President Trump’s Republican Convention acceptance speech on the South Lawn of the White House.

The 58-year-old Strawberry was a Yankee right-back from 1995 to 1999 after making a career with several other MLB teams. But he made a name for himself as the star of the World Series winners ’86 Mets.

Strawberry has had a long relationship with Trump. In 2010 he was released from the “Celebrity Apprentice” by the future president.

After Trump took office, Strawberry defended him in 2017 during an interview with Sports Illustrated, comparing him to late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, who died in 2010.

“He reminds me of the boss, just like George was to the Yankees. They are very kind people and they care about people. And sometimes people get it wrong, ”said Strawberry.
