INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts signed free cornerback Tremon Smith today and gave up defensive end Kendall Coleman.

Black-smith, 5-11, 190 pounds, recently participated in the 2020 offseason schedule with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played 22 career games (one start) in his day with the Eagles (2019-20), Green Bay Packers (2019) and Kansas City Chiefs (2018-19) and totaled one solo tackle, one pass, one fumble and seven special team saves. Smith also tallied 46 kickoff returns for 1,189 yards (25.8 average). He made two playoff games and tallied six kickoff returns for 138 yards (23.0 average), a solo tackle and a fumble recovered. Smith was originally selected by the Chiefs in the sixth round (196th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Coleman, 6-3, 257 pounds, was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2020. He started 43 of 44 career games at Syracuse and finished with 137 tackles (70 solo), 26.5 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, two defensive passes and a blocked kick. Coleman was twice selected for the All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team (2018-2019) and competed in the 2020 East-West Shrine Bowl. Prior to Syracuse, the Indianapolis native played at Cathedral High School.
