Chelsea night is on top as Marina Granovskaia makes key transfer decision and Kai Havertz calls

Good evening, Chelsea fans. Here are the headlines of the evening of Thursday 13 August.

Ballack advises Lampard to improve Havertz

Michael Ballack suggested that Kai Havetz thrive under former Chelsea teammate and current Blues boss Frank Lampard.

Bayer Leverkusen and the Premier League side have been in talks for several weeks over a deal for the 21-year-old German international, which is worth £ 90 million.

Although no deal has yet been reached, Havertz is expected to become a Chelsea player this summer. And Ballack says he will only get better with Lampard.

“I strongly believe Lampard would be 100 percent behind Havertz,” Ballack told Bild, on Objective.

“He likes players who are very dangerous in front of goal and there aren’t many.

“Havertz is a player that Lampard would have helped to develop further, also because he himself was a midfielder with an eye for scoring, who always moved into dangerous areas, trying to finish a chance.”

Voller publishes Havertz’s update

Bayer Leverkusen chief executive Rudi Voller says Havertz can leave the Bundesliga club this summer, but only if certain conditions are met.

Chelsea have been in talks with the German side for several weeks, but there was no chance that Havertz would leave Leverkusen while the club was still in the round of 16 of the Europa League.

However, after Bayer were knocked out of Inter on Monday, Blues fans were hoping a move could be completed soon.

“No decision has yet been made,” said Völler kicker through BuLinews. “There is nothing new in this sense.

“I would like to repeat myself underlining that we are talking about a beautiful player.

“We have a clear and mutual agreement with him and with his representatives that he can only leave under certain conditions.

“Otherwise, it will stay.”

Granovskaia was right about Pasalic

Whenever a talented player leaves a club, there is always a tinge of disappointment among the fans.

While they may not have succeeded, if they have shown talent, fans are always wary of what might be in the future.

Chelsea experienced it mostly thanks to Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah and Romelu Lukaku.

However, while Mario Pasalic enjoyed an excellent season for Atalanta, culminating in his first goal in the Champions League quarter-finals against Paris Saint-Germain, Marina Granovskaia was right to leave the youngster.

Pasalic spent six years at Chelsea but completed five away matches on loan during that time and made no appearances for the Blues.

He was finally sold this summer after two impressive seasons on loan to Atalanta.

Pasalic is thriving thanks to his round and versatile skills, ideal for Atalanta’s unique system.

But, as explained in more detail Here, if the 25-year-old is left in Chelsea midfield, the desired consequences may not be found.

  1. I have no ioter of doubt that Kai ‘H’ will be very good signing for Chelsea. His style of play, his versatility and his age suits Chelsea’s game plan both for the immediate and long term. I just hope both sides will agree a fee quickly. More so when the man at the center of the whole thing has his mind made up to join Chelsea. Up, blues!
