Chelsea behind the scenes: Kai Havertz transfers at the latest, Kepa’s future and preseason plan

The off-season, as short as it may be, has arrived, which means Frank Lampard and his players are taking a brief break before the 2020-21 Premier League season kicks off in just over four weeks.

There’s still a lot going on behind the scenes, however, and the transfer talk is getting hotter.

Our senior reporter Alan Smith jumped live on Facebook last night to answer your questions.

Kai Havertz remains the player fans are most interested in and the Bayer Leverkusen captain dominated the early parts of the conversation.

Additionally, there were some defense questions focused on a run through the center-back’s options and which of the four on the squad is most likely to fail this season should Chelsea get stronger in that particular area.

Kepa, whose future as a goalkeeper of choice is doubtful, comes up as well as the shortened preseason and why the stalemate between Jadon Sancho and Manchester United shows why there should be none

You can watch the recording in the video above and send further questions to Alan on Twitter and he will answer them in a live web chat on Friday afternoon.

If written content is more your thing, there is plenty of end-of-season content to get stuck in.

Here you can read our goal of the season nominations, 102 narrowed down to four, or reviews for all 27 players Lampard used in the last Premier League campaign.

And speaking of Kepa, was that moment the last nail for the Spaniard?
