Chargers WR Mike Williams has a sprained shoulder

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams is seen week to week after sustaining an AC shoulder sprain in his shoulder during Sunday practice, ESPN and multiple reports show.

Williams should be ready for the Chargers’ regular season opener against the Bengals on September 13, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

A source told Adam Schefter that Williams did not need surgery. The source would be “shocked” if Williams did not play in the first week.

Williams’ injury was first reported on Monday by the NFL Network.

Williams suffered the injury when he landed on his shoulder after attempting to make a dive hold.

The 6-foot-4 Williams had 49 catches for 1,001 yards – two career highs – and two touchdowns last season.
