Celtics Boli Bolingoli Receives Three-Game Ban; “Aberdeen Eight” receives a suspended three-game ban

Scott McKenna is one of eight Aberdeen players to receive a three-game ban

Celtics Boli Bolingoli has been suspended for three games due to his quarantine violation. Another two-game sentence was suspended until February 28.

And the “Aberdeen Eight” have each received a suspended three-game ban.

Bolingoli traveled to Spain, did not isolate and then played at Kilmarnock.

Aberdeen’s Bruce Anderson, Craig Bryson, Sam Cosgrove, Michael Devlin, Jonny Hayes, Matty Kennedy, Dylan McGeouch and Scott McKenna broke the ban when they went to a bar on August 1st.

The nine players learned their fate at a Scottish Association hearing on Friday.

The suspended bans will only come into effect if they are again accused of discrediting football or of not having complied with the rules of the game before February 28th.

After the night of eight Aberdeen players at a city center bar linked to a Covid-19 outbreak, two tested positive and the club had postponed three games.

Regarding the violations, Celtic – who canceled two games due to Bolingoli’s violation – and Aberdeen are under investigation by the SPFL.
