Eintracht Frankfurt have signed goalkeeper Merle Frohms. As the football women’s Bundesliga club announced on Tuesday, the 25-year-old will receive a contract until June 30, 2023. Frohms comes from SC Freiburg, where she played for two years. With Freiburg, she had played the last game of the past season against 1. FFC Frankfurt, which after a merger in the next season as Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga
starts. Previously, Frohms was under contract with VfL Wolfsburg between 2012 and 2018. With the club, she became German champion four times, won the DFB Cup five times and won the Champions League title in 2013 and 2014. She made her national team debut in October 2018. Frankfurt’s sports director Siegfried Dietrich described Frohms as “a leading player and a modern, playful goalkeeper with strong reflexes.”
