What’s going on with Bill Laimbeer’s hair in the WNBA bubble?

What’s going on with Bill Laimbeer?

Las Vegas Aces coach and former Detroit Pistons Bad Boy are causing concern on social media after debuting what can only be described as “one look”.

The story behind it is even better than that photo.

Axes provide an odd injury report

The Las Vegas Aces opened the 2020 WNBA season on Sunday against the Chicago Sky at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The championship is in a bubble on the site and the game is a rematch of the “Hamby Heave” playoff matchup of 2019. These two teams are not friends, and it was Heaven who survived in this round, 88-86, with a 3 – last minute last minute of Allie Quigley with the assistance of Courtney Vandersloot.

But before they could even get started, attention was focused on Laimbeer when John Maxwell, the director of media relations at Aces, published the injury report.

Two made sense. Star Liz Cambage has been medically apologetic for the season because of the high risk of complications from COVID-19. Kelsey Plum tore up his Achilles in June.

The last one though …

“Bill Laimbeer’s barber (outside – where almost unknown).”

NBA bubble in nearby Orlando, there aren’t as many perks and luxuries in Bradenton. The NBA has a barbershop that was set up, whereas there is nothing of the sort in the WNBA bubble. (And no salon, either.)" data-reactid="35">Unlike the NBA bubble in nearby Orlando, there aren’t many perks and luxuries in Bradenton. The NBA has created a barber shop, while there is nothing of the sort in the WNBA bubble. (And not even a salon.)

The aces reveal the new Laimbeer accessory

This led to another revelation from the Axis media staff. “Headband Bill” was introduced to the world and A’ja Wilson’s face tells the story.

Laimbeer continued his gaze as he trained the aces on Sunday and gained a national audience in ABC. ESPN analyst Holly Rowe, who is the only member of the media in the bubble, explained the barber problem. But as Rebecca Lobo commented from the Bristol, Connecticut study, does this really explain the band?

Social media was filled with chatter of style icons and “Dodgeball” star Patches O’Houlihan. The entertainment comparisons were endless.

How bad is Laimbeer’s hair?

The best question is how bad will it be? Aces hit the bubble on July 6, so at least 20 days have passed since Laimbeer had a haircut.

The WNBA season is 22 games long and will not end until September 12th. Are we going to see Laimbeer swing punk-rock hair with a sponsored headband? Will Wilson give up, break social exclusion measures, and cut his hair when having lunch?

There is another alternative, but perhaps not a better one. Dearica Hamby has her daughter, Amaya, in the bubble with her, and is apparently a budding hairdresser.

But then again, maybe not. This is a hair straightener in hand and offers another series of worrying looks.

Watch the aces for the contents of the comic

Aces aim for a championship and have a crew to do it, even if Cambage and Plum are not part of the team. While they are top notch players, their social media team is also worth celebrating.

Much revolves around Wilson, understandably, and has hired Laimbeer to announce the season’s schedule.

And the outtakes.

It will be an interesting and fun bubble season.
