The Xunta opens a sanctioning process against Fuenlabrada and LaLiga

The president of the Xunta de Galicia in office, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, announced that the Galician government he is presiding over has opened a sanctioning process against Fuenlabrada and against LaLiga for “a serious breach of public health protocols.”

According to the Galician president, once this previous instruction is completed, the instructor considers that it is appropriate to open a sanctioning process because “the serious breach of the health protocols” supposed “a clear risk” for public health, generated social alarm in La Coruña and affected to the credibility of the Galicia brand as a place “with security”.

“A week later we already have enough information about what happened and we have identified the people and institutions that, in our opinion, are responsible,” said the incumbent Xunta head, who stressed that the facts investigated are “very serious.”

“There has been a systematic breach of sports and health protocols, in general, and of the Spanish health regulations and of the autonomous communities in the fight against the pandemic,” said Núñez Feijóo, who said that these represent “the verified data” .

For its part, LaLiga has responded to the decision of the Galician autonomous government through a statement, in which it describes as “surprising” the fact that “today, when ten days have passed since the process began, no request for information on the procedure has been received by LaLiga from the Xunta de Galicia ».

LaLiga also considers that “the objective reserved information remains in that, reserved, and that its function is limited to the beginning of the administrative file”, reserving “the corresponding actions in the event of incorrect use” of this information.

The informative note concludes regretting that these days it is “being observed how the sporting situation of Deportivo is causing a series of unfair and arbitrary declarations and measures by the public administrations that go back to well-past times past.”

Meanwhile, the Fuenlabrada staff and coaching staff remain confined at the Hotel Finisterre in La Coruña, waiting for the latest tests to allow part of the expedition to return to Madrid more than ten later.
