The sports car, which belonged to David Beckham for 15 years, is surprisingly decent

The famous British footballer is famous for his style, which is not inappropriate to call extravagant, yet for 15 years he did not own anything like a bright green Lamborghini. It is an Aston V8 Volante from 1988, but properly improved.

Between March 1977 and December 1989, the United Kingdom had only one representative in the club of top supersports. This was the Aston Martin V8, which went on sale not only with a somewhat heavy weight exceeding 1,800 kilograms, but also with a 5.3-liter eight-cylinder. Its output was initially around 315 horsepower, which the coupe managed to bring to a hundred in 7.1 seconds, while the maximum was 242 km / h. The five-stage manual took care of the transmission of power, and the standard automatic air conditioning took care of the comfort of the passengers.

However, we will now move to the end of the production of British supersports, for one simple reason – for sale is an open version from 1988. In addition, it is not an ordinary Aston Martin V8 Volante, if anything like that at all number of only 78 specimens. This was bought in 2003 by the famous footballer David Beckham, who owned it until 2018. After that, the convertible evidently passed back to the ownership of Aston Martin, who now decided to send it on.

What can you count on besides the famous name registered in the technical card? As we indicated in the introduction, especially with an eight-cylinder drive unit. However, it received the X Pack package, with which the electronic fuel injection Weber / Marelli arrived. It replaced the existing carburetors, which reduced consumption and emissions. At the same time, however, the brand also brought into play a more sporty exhaust, pistons from Cosworth, larger intake ducts or shafts ensuring a higher stroke. The power thus increased to 410 to 420 horses.

However, the factory modifications did not end there, customers could also ask the carmaker for more intake and more permeable catalysts. This is exactly the configuration available to Beckham, who got 432 under his right foot instead of the ball. Thanks to this performance, his Aston Martin manages to accelerate to a hundred in 5.2 seconds and reaches a maximum of 270 km / h. These are impressive values ​​even today, clearly confirming why the V8 Volante was a member of that supersport club.

The question is whether it was the driving dynamics or the comfort that fascinated Beckham so much. What is certain, however, is that the footballer loved his convertible so much that he took it with him to Spain when he was hired by Real Madrid. At the same time, the car was provided with constant service care, which is why it is not surprising that it is provided with a twelve-month warranty. You can expect not only a fully operational condition, but also practically intact wooden decors or cream leather upholstery with red seams.

All that remains is to deliver only one, and not the 38,100 mile (61,303 km) ramp. We have in mind rather the price of 445 thousand pounds (approximately 13.1 million CZK), which is definitely not low. On the other hand, it is necessary to realize that you will become the owner of a car that has long been loved by one of the most famous footballers in the world. In addition, it is an acclaimed Aston Martin V8 Volante, which not only received the X Pack, but also held Ronal, which are a sought-after collector’s item in itself. In this case, it pays to reach deeper into your wallet.
