Sources – Browns signs $ 125 million 5-year agreement with Myles Garrett

The Cleveland Browns are about to finalize a massive $ 125 million five-year extension with pass-rusher star Myles Garrett, a league source told ESPN. The agreement is not yet final, but the parties are close.

NFL Network announced Tuesday that an agreement is imminent with the No. 1 overall choice in 2017.

Garrett entered the offseason with two years remaining on his rookie contract after the Browns chose his fifth year option.

Garrett had 10 sacks in 10 games last year. But then he was suspended for the last six games for hitting Mason Rudolph with the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback’s own helmet in a skirmish at the end of their game on November 14. The NFL reinstated Garrett in February.

By signing the agreement, Garrett would pass Khalil Mack of Chicago ($ 23 million) as the highest paid defensive player of the average annual salary.
