Hunter knows that $ 10 million man Williams will spark the greatest interest in her fire sale.
The discussion of Williams’ return to the Sydney Roosters will begin, especially if striker Victor Radley is out for the season and Angro Crichton is out for up to six weeks because of a knee injury.
The Roosters were aware of the latest Williams whisper last month and privately admitted that if he couldn’t play in the Super League, he would likely return to New Zealand.
Canterbury is another of his former clubs that would no doubt roll out the blue and white welcome mat if money didn’t matter, as did the New Zealand Warriors.
“I know Sonny is healthy and in good shape and will be very attractive,” said Hunter.
“He pinched his knee, which we paid a lot of attention to, but he’s 100 percent.
“Sonny actually plans to take some time out and rest in Europe, possibly Spain, before returning.
“We are now booking flights for all these people and their families.
“But we said to all the players today: ‘Guys, if you can switch to a different club, then do it’. ‘
“It has no impact on our pay as it has already been reduced to 55 percent. But we encourage them to do so.
“It’s the same with our British players. We told them that if they can connect to another Super League club, we will support them 100 percent.”
“One of the reasons why we wanted to do this is that if we got up and played in front of an audience, what could possibly have been in late September, the players’ wages would have increased to 80 percent on average.
“So this is an offer for them to let them try to take care of themselves.
“We would much rather play than not. And they want to be ready for the next season. ”
Hunter said that any deals the players could land would only be for this season and that they would likely return to pre-season training at the end of the year.
A problem for many Manchester-based players is what happens to their families and school when they make short-term deals.

McCrone is already in Paris, while Lussick is likely to try to return home via Canada.
Lussick is a local beach beach and would attract a lot of NRL interest. St. George Illawarra is a club that needs a center forward.
All players would have to isolate for a fortnight under the Australian government regulations.
COVID has caused a lot of emotional and financial stress in Canada, and the fact that the wolf packs couldn’t host their eleven home games this year was the “killer,” said Hunter.
Seven of the club’s players had visa issues and were not allowed to play in the UK until it was cleared in the 11th hour.
The Wolf Packs entered the Super League for the first time this season and lost all six games, but were injured.
