Some Arsenal fans on Twitter believe that Lucas Torreira’s return may be imminent.
The powerful midfielder hasn’t kicked a ball for the Gunners since March due to an ankle injury.
He started running outdoors again on May 30, but hasn’t played in any of Arsenal’s four Premier League and FA Cup games since the project restarted.
Tonight Mikel Arteta’s team hosts Norwich City.
Torreira, who signed up for £ 27 million two years ago, sent a pre-match tweet, stating that he is “happy to be back in training.”
And here’s how fans of the Emirates Stadium club responded on Twitter:
Arteta may be wise to give Torreira a few minutes tonight.
Arsenal played an English Cup semi-final against Manchester City on 18 July and striker Torreira leads the race, better for the Gunners’ chances of overthrowing Pep Guardiola’s team at Wembley.
The good news is that Northern Londoners have five Premier League games now, so there’s plenty of time for Uruguay International to get up to prepare for that.
