Robles, Nats pounds the Yankees for the first win

Victor Robles went home and drove four races while host Washington Nationals overcame five mistakes and Stephen Strasburg’s absence to record a 9-2 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday night.

After citizens were hit by a single hit in Thursday’s shortened rain loss, they totaled 13, and all beginners except the short Trea Turner had a hit.

Robles has lost a triple of the cycle and produced his second career game with at least four RBI. The center back had a two-shot double down the left field line in a second of three seconds from New York left James Paxton (0-1) and added a two-shot homer in the fourth rookie Mike King.

Robles missed an opportunity to get the cycle when he hit the eighth.

Asdrubal Cabrera finished seventh and had a double RBI, while citizens won after scratching Strasburg due to a nervous problem in his right hand. Howie Kendrick also had a double RBI for Washington, which was 4 out of 10 with the runners in the scoring position in his second game without Juan Soto (coronavirus).

Michael Taylor has also returned home to Washington.

Turner made two Washington mistakes and had an RBI, doubling the double game. Kendrick, lifter Kyle Finnegan and Starlin Castro made Washington’s other mistakes.

Giancarlo Stanton arrived home for the second game in a row, hitting a 483-foot shot at the pitches in the center left in the fourth inning. DJ LeMahieu, who recovered from the coronavirus, drove the other New York race with a single RBI in the third.

Erick Fedde started for Strasburg – which was scratched due to a nervous problem in his hand – and allowed two runs (one earned) with four strokes in four innings. He hit three, hit one, and threw 68 shots at 19 batters.

Four lifters combined out of five unmarked innings. Tanner Rainey (1-0) followed Fedde and was awarded the victory by the official scorer.

Paxton, who won his last 10 regular season decisions last season, lasted one more and allowed three shots out of five shots. The left arm was raised after allowing Michael Taylor to walk and loaded the bases following Robles’ double.
