I wonder if there will be a real battle for the right tackle this season or if Rick Wagner will be automatically assigned the position. If Lane Taylor returns and Billy Turner could be two of the people who could take the job down from Wagner. What do you think?
The good post is to lose for Wagner. He has the experience to intervene and start, and he is still only 30 years old. Taylor is a great insurance policy and Turner could certainly push outside, but the scenario you describe is plan B at best. And I don’t see anyone else challenging Wagner for the right tackle in this climate.
In your article on Mercedes Lewis and the tight ends, no mention was made of James Looney, who was transferred from defense to TE by staff. Realistically, do you see him playing this position for the Pack?
I do. However, the focus of this specific story was on Lewis and the tight youngsters who were on the active list last season. There will be more on Looney in our position-by-position series later this month. If you’ve followed some of the stories about Looney this offseason, he’s fully invested in being the best tight end he can be.

How will they make cuts in the lineup without any evaluation if they cancel all the preseason games?
Pre-season games are important, but they are often nothing more than confirmation of what we have seen in practice. Tim Boyle, Allen Lazard and Chandon Sullivan all showed up at Nitschke Field before any of them played a pre-season game. No preseason game would make the scouts’ jobs a little more difficult, but it’s not impossible to assess the players.
Changes in our defensive high school?
Tramon Williams remains a free agent and Ibraheim Campbell signed this offseason with the Tennessee Titans. Apart from that, the rest of the secondary is intact.

Is there anything in the CBA that indicates how players will be paid if the season is canceled / shortened?
Nothing is set in stone, but the NFL and NFLPA have provisions to negotiate in “good faith” in the event of a natural disaster. Thus, the league and the players’ union should agree on how they would proceed if the season was shortened or canceled.
If there is no pre-season, will our players stay healthier throughout the season?
It would be quite the experience, right? We’ve never seen anything like this before in the NFL, so it’s hard to prophesy. It seems like it would be healthier for the NFL to start a regular season, but I’m curious to see how their bodies resist the stress of a full schedule without accumulating this early wear and tear? If not a problem, it could be a revealing year in terms of training and preparation.

Who would be considered the top 10 wide receivers in the history of the Packers?
This is probably a better question for Cliff. My 1½ cents and in no particular order: Don Hutson, James Lofton, Billy Howton, Sterling Sharpe, Davante Adams, Jordy Nelson, Boyd Dowler, Max McGee, Antonio Freeman and Donald Driver.
How do you think the Packers will use Jordan Love? It doesn’t seem to be as fast or clever as Taysom Hill, so not sure using it on designed tracks will also work.
I think the Packers should use it as a rookie learning to play quarterback at the highest level in the game.
I recently read that if the season started now, the Buffalo Bills would not be allowed to have fans attend games due to directives from Covid-19 in New York State. I suspect this is also the case in other states. Would the NFL accept a situation where some unrestricted teams can admit fans and other teams like the Bills can’t?
I thought there was no way at first, but now I’m not so sure after reading some of these initial reports. There is revenue sharing, after all. Honestly, I do not know.
Will players who have their own residence near the Lambeau field be allowed to stay there during training camp now that the Packers have announced that they will not be at St. Norbert College?
