“The victim of these two facts recognized the person who had appeared before him because of the media coverage (from a first case, note). She informed the public prosecutor’s office which ordered this further investigation. Farid El Melali acknowledged the facts, “he continued, adding that” these are not facts committed after his first arrest “and that the player” seems to respect his care since then “.
El Melali has just extended his contract
The young Algerian, who plays in Ligue 1, risks a year of imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros. The footballer had already been arrested on May 4 in Angers and placed in police custody. According to his neighbors, he was masturbating in front of the accommodation of an adult neighbor who filed a complaint. The acts were committed in the private courtyard of a group of dwellings.
Heard by the police, Farid El Melali admitted to having had an “inappropriate attitude”, according to his lawyer, Me Sandra Chirac-Kollarik. The footballer had assured that he thought he was alone in this building courtyard. The striker, who joined Angers in August 2018, has just extended his contract. Now subject to two complaints, he must be tried next August 25 in the context of an appearance on prior recognition of guilt (CRPC).
