Krul leads in heavy defeat against Arsenal, also Aké and Bournemouth humiliated

The Norwich City of Tim Krul and the Bournemouth of Nathan Aké have received a new boost in the relegation battle in the Premier League. The Canaries and The Cherries crashed hard against Arsenal and Newcastle United respectively.

Arsenal – Norwich City FC 4-0
Tim Krul was adored last weekend after starring in the FA Cup game with Manchester United, but he was unable to continue. The Dutch goalkeeper of Norwich City was the starting goal of Arsenal against Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The eight-time international lingered for far too long, so the Gabonese cut off the ball and scored his fiftieth Premier League goal: 0-1. With that, the poison cup was not yet empty for Krul, because a few minutes later a shot by Granit Xhaka went through his legs.

The Gunners subsequently had no child at Norwich. In the second half, Aubameyang and debutant Cedric Soares stepped up the score. Arsenal climbs to seventh place, but has yet to catch up. Number six Wolverhampton Wanderers and number five Manchester United have six points more. Norwich remains the bottom line with 21 points, six points less than Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

Bournemouth – Newcastle United 1-4
Bournemouth also suffered a sensitive blow. With Nathan Aké and Arnaut Groeneveld in the starting line-up, they lost 0-4 at home to Newcastle United, which came to the lead after five minutes via Dwight Gayle. The Magpies then predominated. Allan Saint-Maximin was also important again by dribbling into the penalty area and putting it back on Sean Longstaff: 0-2.

Things went completely wrong for Bournemouth after that. Miguel Almiron made it 0-3 after 57 minutes and Valentino Lazaro threw extra salt in the wounds. Dan Gosling saved the honor in the closing minutes for The Cherries, who remain under the relegation mark. An exciting ending awaits, because the number nineteen has as many points as Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Everton – Leicester City 2-1
Leicester City has to watch out for the hunt for a Champions League ticket. Manager Brendan Rodgers’ team lost 2-1 to Everton, making it only one win in its last eight league matches. Leicester got off to a bad start at Goodison Park. Richarlison opened the score to Everton after ten minutes and from a penalty kick Gylfi Sigurdsson made it 2-0 after hands of Wilfred Ndidi.

Kelechi Iheanacho shot Leicester back into the game after half-time. It was not even close when the game ended in 2-2. Jordan Pickford let a cross slip through the hands, after which Michael Keane almost worked the ball into his own goal. That was spared Everton, leaving Leicester – which ranks third – now only three points more than Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, numbers five and six. Chelsea can already pass later in the evening.
