Jürgen Klopp has no doubt that Harvey Elliott will become an integral part of his Liverpool squad after the youngster signed his first professional contract with Anfield.
Elliott, who arrived from Fulham last summer, had been eligible for the new deal since his 17th birthday in April.
Liverpool has not yet confirmed the length of the deal, but the playmaker is highly rated by the Reds and has made eight senior appearances in all competitions this season.
And Reds boss Klopp is pleased that the English youth international has put the pen on paper.

“Harvey is such an exciting prospect. We all know his qualities – we saw them this season in the first team and in the U23.
“I love his attitude – love his enthusiasm – love his bravery – love the fact that he has the right level of confidence and cheek in football.
“I think the public may not yet know the real Harvey and part of it is that we tried to protect and protect it.
“But he’s such a nice, polite, humble boy – who appreciates his talent and opportunities – and just loves soccer. He loves the game in the first place, would play every minute of every day if he could – and he loves this club too and that’s a nice mix. “

Klopp also outlined his long-term plan for Elliott and insisted that the youth’s development not be accelerated.
The boss added: “It is crucial – so important – that he is given time and space to develop. He’ll get it from us. He must be allowed to make mistakes while studying and must not feel more pressure than is right and fair.
“He is young and is still at an early stage in his development.
“What is great is that he has the perfect culture here and we will protect him. The older players and coaches really care about him and are as excited as I am about his future. So we’re all going to be part of his story as it unfolds.
