In Order to Monitor Preparation for the 2021 U-20 World Cup

Shocking news came from PSSI Chairperson Mochamad Iriawan. The close friend called Iwan Bule said he would become the manager of the U-19 national team.

Iwan Bule’s decision to become the manager of the U-19 national team was motivated by the desire of the former West Java Police Chief and Metro Jaya to directly monitor the preparation of the U-19 national team who will compete in the U-20 World Cup next year.

He revealed this when signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Youth and Sports related to Indonesia’s U-19 national team facilities towards the U-20 World Cup, Monday (7/27/2020).

“Surely we will be maximally in accordance with the direction of Mr. President (Joko Widodo) during an internal meeting. For our achievements we will continue to guard,” said Iwan Bule during a press conference at Wisma Kemenpora, Monday (7/27/2020).

Not only served as Chairman of PSSI and will be the team manager, Iwan Bule also said he was the head of the achievement field.

“For the time being, I am the head of the achievement department and maybe I am also the manager,” he said.

“So that I used to come down to pay attention immediately and see them all on the field,” he added.

The decision taken by Iwan Bule is certainly surprising, because he is the Chairperson of PSSI.

As a team manager, Iwan Bule must be responsible to the PSSI general chairman who is also held by himself.

Although this is not stated in the statute, but the concurrent position of chairman of PSSI as national team manager is considered unethical.
