FC Groningen disappointed with final competition program

FC Groningen is not happy with the competition program that became final on Friday.

After the announcement of the draft program on Wednesday, FC Groningen had already indicated that it was not happy with the program. But the KNVB does not respond to the objections of the FC, as it turned out today.

FC Groningen starts at home against PSV on Sunday, September 13 at 4:45 PM. The next home game is on October 4 against Ajax. The FC would have liked to see those games play later in the year.

‘Hits our supporters unreasonably hard’

The Pride of the North is not about the sporting point of view, but they would have liked to play one of those top matches with more audience. “Unfortunately we have only found understanding, but have not achieved success,” says more direct Wouter Gudde on the FC Groningen website.

According to the KNVB, it was not possible to adjust the program, because they absolutely wanted to program all the top matches in the second half of the season. We understand that, but it strikes our supporters unreasonably hard in our eyes and that is difficult to digest. ‘

Cloth for bleeding

Another question was answered by the KNVB. The game on Sunday, February 7 at home against Feyenoord will be played at the – beloved – time of half past two. That game was first scheduled at 12.15 PM.

The program with times and match days is completed until the first weekend of February. It is already known what the other rounds will look like, but the day and time are not yet final. This will become clear in December.

The full program up to round 22 can be found on the FC Groningen website.
