F1 Hungarian Grand Prix 2020 in Hungaroring (11.10 p.m. AEST) – Mercedes is ready to benefit from its early dominance in the Formula 1 season when the race returns to Hungary on Sunday evening.
Race two winner Lewis Hamilton starts the third race of the year from scratch after qualifying in front of team-mate Valtteri Bottas, who won the season opener.
But all eyes will be behind the front row as Racing Point wants to shake up the establishment. Lance Stroll starts on P3 and his team-mate Sergio Perez on P4.
However, Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo will have to cut his job for him if he starts the race from just outside the top 10 in 11th place.

“We just couldn’t improve enough today,” said Ricciardo after qualifying on Saturday.
He added: “We can still be positive for tomorrow. We have a free choice of tires, which can be very important here, and we’ll try to make this work. I am optimistic and there are certainly points to be awarded. “
In the meantime, Red Bull Racing is trying to understand why, despite promising signs in the previous season, the pace is lacking.
“Obviously something is not working,” said Max Verstappen, who qualified seventh, on Saturday. “The whole week was very difficult and difficult to understand. We tried a lot of things but it still doesn’t really work, so of course a disappointing qualifying. “
He added: “We just don’t have a good balance and we don’t have a lot of top speed. It all makes it slow. “
QUALIFICATION
Mercedes, who was the class of the field throughout Budapest weekend, was even more dominant in Saturday’s shootout, and with Red Bull completely out of the fight, the third quarter turned out to be a head-to-head battle between Hamilton and Bottas for rod.
While Bottas improved on his final lap, beating a formally strong Hamilton who took an unbelievable 90th F1 pole by finishing his last attempt at 1: 13.4, a tenth of a second ahead of his title rival and teammate, was not enough .
