Esther Guerrero breaks the Spanish record of 2,000 meters in Olot

The confinement has not ended with the desire to overcome Esther Guerrero who yesterday, on the slopes of Olot where he usually trains, broke one of the oldest records in Spain in the unusual distance of 2,000 meters. Five laps on the track that the athlete from Banyoles completed with a time of 5: 41.30, six seconds less than the record set by Júlia Vaquero since 1996 in Nice. Of course, Guerrero also broke the Catalan record held by Carme Valero (6: 04.79), for even longer, in 1986. Guerrero, who in the first two laps had the help of his sister Marina, he made the steps of every 400 meters with 1: 07.84, 2: 17.55, 3: 26.62, 4: 33.78 and the last of 5: 41.30. Esther Guerrero’s feat came in a time control organized by the CN Banyoles and the CA Olot on the Garrotxa tracks in, as she had explained herself, “an attempt to organize a safe and close competition, in every sense, putting a little normality in this strange season ».
