Coronavirus: the semi and the Paris marathon postponed again

We are still going backwards. The half-marathon and the Paris marathon are postponed again, the organizer Amaury Sport Organization (ASO) announced on Monday. The first should finally run on October 18, while the 42.195 km of efforts in the heart of the streets of the capital are now scheduled for November 15.

The two trials were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the beginning of March, the Paris half-marathon was postponed a few hours before its departure, angering runners who sometimes came from far for the occasion. The race was rescheduled for September 6. Originally scheduled for Sunday April 5, the marathon had been postponed to October 18.

Participants automatically registered for new dates

“In order to be able to organize the Schneider Electric Marathon of Paris in the best conditions, we decided in concert with the Paris City Hall and the Paris police headquarters, to postpone the date of the event”, write the organizers in their press release . A similar rationale has been published for the half marathon.

“We are well aware of the inconvenience caused by this exceptional situation and the impact on your organization. We thank you for your patience and do everything we can to welcome you in the best conditions, ”underlines ASO.

All participants are automatically registered for the new dates. Riders who are not available have 15 days to let the organizers know. They will first benefit from a credit for the amount of their registration valid until December 31, 2021. If they have not used it by that date, the remaining money will be returned to them.
