Club Brugge does not intervene despite corona infections

Club Brugge will play a friendly match on Wednesday evening, because at 6pm Blauw-Zwart will take on Deinze, one of the newcomers in 1B. It is the penultimate test in view of the cup final against Antwerp, which is scheduled for 1 August. In between, Club will play against Lille next Saturday in the Jan Breydel Stadium.

In recent days, some corona infections have been detected in the Northern French. After the exhibition match against Mouscron, trainer Christophe Galtier announced that Renato Sanches, Jonathan Bamba and Jonathan Ikoné had tested positive for the corona virus. The newspapaer know that despite this the match against Club will continue.

The clubs see no reason to cancel the match because there would be no risk of further contamination. Sanches is still in his home country of Portugal, while Bamba and Ikoné are in mandatory quarantine. They will certainly not be able to infect any of their teammates in the coming week.
