Celtics Rookie Tremont Waters has concussion, has yet to clear protocol Boston Celtics

Brad Stevens gave a daunting update on a Celtics novice Monday evening.

The Boston coach told reporters via Zoom that Tremont Waters has suffered a concussion and has been on the NBA protocol in the past few days. The waters have not yet been drained.

“Tremont has a concussion three or four days ago, so it’s in the final stages of the concussion protocol with its stuff, but it hasn’t been eliminated,” said Stevens, via MassLive.

Waters had a two-way contract with the Cs and spent time with the Maine Red Claws. The 22-year-old won the Rookie of the Year award, finishing third in the MVP race. He was also named to the G League all-star game with teammate Tacko Fall.

The guard has appeared in 10 games this season for Boston and has averaged 3.3 points and 1.2 assists per game. In Maine, however, he really shone by averaging 18 points, 7.3 assists and 1.9 rubes per game.

IC have already been cautious with Kemba Walker, who has had a knee injury. So it’s certainly not ideal to have another player out of action for the time being.
