Bruno Fernandes should have been satisfied with a seat on the bench if he had played for Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson, claims the former Red Devil Eric Djemba-Djemba.
The arrival of the Portuguese star in Old Trafford coincided with an enormous boom in form.
Much of it was attributed to his achievements on the court and his personality.
But Djemba-Djemba does not believe that he or his teammate Paul Pogba deserved a starting place ahead of Roy Keane or Paul Scholes.
He said BettingApps.com when asked if United’s current midfielders under Ferguson were watching from the bench: “Definitely! Fernandes and Pogba would definitely have been on the bench behind [Roy] Keane and [Paul] Scholes.

“These two were great together. Roy Keane was like a coach, like a manager of the team. “
Keane and Scholes led United’s midfield at a time when they dominated English football.
Those days are long gone when the club’s last title came from Ferguson in 2013 last season.

However, optimism is growing at Old Trafford and much has been done about whether Fernandes and Pogba can effectively live together in a team, but the Cameroonian has his own opinion.
He said: “I would just play Matic behind Pogba and Fernandes. I think Matic is currently the best defensive midfielder at United. I don’t think United has to sign other midfielders. “
Pogba missed much of the season due to injury and was involved in a long transfer saga, with doubts about his future in United.
And Djemba-Djemba thinks the French still have a lot to improve.
“I think Paul Pogba can do a lot better,” he added. “He’s still a young guy and we can always expect better things from him.
“Now you will see that Pogba becomes a world class player again with Matic and Fernandes. He needs them to push him, to tell him that he can do these things to make him an even better player. “
