At Tottenham it has not gone smoothly lately, although the previous matchday did win against Arsenal thanks to a hit by Toby Alderweireld. He had to do it again today without Jan Vertonghen beside him. His fellow Red Devil started on the couch.
On the field though: Serge Aurier. The Frenchman lost his brother last week, but still started in the starting eleven.
After half an hour we got the first big chance of the match and it immediately resulted in a goal. Son fired his bullet into the bottom corner. Not much later, Newcastle goalkeeper Dubravka was on the post with a good save on the attempt of the South Korean. Newcastle reacted, but the most dangerous shot did not get past the post.
After the break Tottenham faded away and Newcastle took advantage of that. Ritchie shot the 1-1 nicely in the far corner. Up and about it? No, because there was suddenly Harry Kane, who buffered the 1-2 into goal: the 200th club goal for the Brit.
And just before whistle, Kane doubled his counter. The goal getter was crowned the match winner with the 1-3. In this way Tottenham keeps its chances in the battle for a European ticket.
