The National Security Council announced again on Wednesday some relaxation of the corona measures. For the time being, mass events are still banned, yet football matches with a limited number of audiences are not entirely excluded. After all, Prime Minister Jan Jambon stated that in certain cases an exception can be made.
Jambon even opened the door for a cup final with a limited number of spectators. But the N-VA member was soon whistled back by the Brussels city council. There they remain with the position that the cup final can under no circumstances be finished with the audience in the stadium.
This is striking, because a few weeks ago the same city council gave the green light for a big demonstration. Many fans of finalists Antwerp and Club Brugge show themselves critically on social media. Especially for Brussels mayor Philippe Close (PS), who is also a member of the Board of Directors at Anderlecht.
Demonstrations and riots? Check!
Illegal mass parties? Check!
Memorial in full swing? Check!
But a cup final for mss less than 10,000 sups?
Hypocritical cowards!
Brussels is a thing of the past, time when den Bosuil is finished yes. https://t.co/7JpDgxCM0G
