June 28 (Reuters) – Bologna made Sampdoria in Serie A more difficult on Sunday by releasing Claudio Ranieri’s side a third 1-2 loss within eight days, while Sassuolo on another thriller with six Toren was involved, this time 3: 1. 3 with Verona.
Musa Barrow broke the deadlock for Bologna in the 72nd minute with a penalty and the Gambian prepared the second for Riccardo Orsolini with a mazy run on the left three minutes later.
Barrow then hit the post before Federico Bonazzoli scored a goal for Sampdoria two minutes before the end.
Orsolini’s goal didn’t seem to impress his trainer Sinisa Mihajlovic.
“I expected more from him,” said Mihajlovic. “If I had a suitable substitute on the bench, I would have changed at the end of the first half because I didn’t like his performance. Then he stayed on the field and scored.
“There was a lot of effort, but that’s the minimum,” he added. “I expect more from him – dribble, exchange, he has to take some risks.”
Sampdoria, who lost to Inter Milan and then AS Roma after the same result, dropped back to 17th place with 26 points, just one place and one point above the danger zone. Bologna is 11th
Sassuolo’s half-time substitute Jeremie Boga scored twice and Rogerio equalized in the seventh minute of stoppage time as they battled back 3-1 four days after a 3-3 draw against Verona after holding Inter Milan with the same result had.
Darko Lazovic gave Verona the lead in the 51st minute, Boga equalized two minutes later, but more goals from Mariusz Stepinski and Matteo Pessina brought Verona under control.
