Two Charleroi players infected with coronavirus

Charleroi attackers Mamadou Fall and Younes Delfi tested positive for the new corona virus. The Senegalese and the Iranian returned infected from their home country.

Exactly a week ago the first physical tests were scheduled at Charleroi. All players first had to take a mandatory corona test. It now appears that two players, the Senegalese Mamadou Fall and the Iranian Younes Delfi, have tested positive. The two are therefore missing on the internship of Charleroi in Germany, just like Falls compatriot Modou Diagne. It is not infected, but the defender traveled with Fall from Senegal to Belgium and at Charleroi they want to be on the safe side.

Delfi also became infected in his home country – Iran is in the top ten worldwide in terms of the number of infections and deaths. He traveled with his fellow countryman Gholizadeh, but he did present in Kamen, Germany.

Transparency

“This is a difficult situation for us,” says Administrative Director Pierre-Yves Hendrickx. “Both players will be quarantined, but will continue to work individually as they have no symptoms or problems.”

Charleroi chose to communicate transparently about the infections. “It is not an easy period, but everyone has to deal with it in a professional and transparent manner. I would be surprised if we were the only club where players have tested positive ‘, Hendrickx concluded.

Last week, five players from Red Star Belgrade tested positive and earlier that was also the case with a lot of players in Serie A. Also the English, Spanish and German top divisions already had a few positive cases.
