The end of the Premier League is doubtful if the Leicester Coronavirus lock is extended as Richard Masters reveals fears – The Sun.

PREM boss Richard Masters admitted that the league may not be able to complete if the Leicester corona virus lock is extended.

But Masters confirmed that Liverpool are now champions.

Health Minister Matt Hancock said the decision to place new restrictions on the city of East Midlands has no impact on Leicester’s planned Prem clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Masters, who appeared before the selection committee for culture, media and sport via video link, informed MPs that options were available to move Leicester games to neutral locations if necessary.

However, the league chairman admitted that a widespread outbreak of the virus could force a restriction that would end the season – and plunge competition into a potential nightmare.

A number of clubs made it clear that they would not accept relegation if neither the prem nor the championship campaign ended.

This possibility has now become more relevant due to the events in Leicester, although Brendan Rodgers’ team trained normally yesterday and will play in Everton on Wednesday evening.

Masters said: “We have been planning for a long time to adapt to a neutral event model for various reasons.

If it happens in multiple areas or the course of the virus carries other risks, there is a chance that we may not be able to end the season.

“We can deal with the situation in Leicester clearly if it means that the club will not be able to play home games for the foreseeable future or only this weekend. We can prepare for that.

“If it happens in multiple areas or the course of the virus carries other risks, there is a chance that we may not be able to end the season.

“We have to get through by the end of July and complete our 380 games. It all depends on the course of the virus.

“The clubs have decided to look at the issue of cutbacks and what would have happened if the season hadn’t ended – there would be a discussion if it happened.

“We are optimistic that we can end the season, but we have to agree which model could be used in the future.

“But whatever happens, Liverpool are now our champions, so we don’t have to worry about that.”

Prem Clubs signaled a long-term vision to bring the Women’s Super League under one roof by agreeing a £ 1.14 million donation to kick off the next season.

The money will be available for Covid 19 tests and PSA, so players can start training next week and start the next semester on September 5, as planned.
