Speedway loses partnerships after ‘Bubba Rope’ Post

PINE HALL, NC – A North Carolina racetrack has lost some partnerships after its owner “Bubba Rope” advertised for sale online after NASCAR said a sling was in the garage of Bubba Wallace, the only top-series black driver had been found.

A concrete company and driver series ended their partnerships on Friday with the 800m dirt road 311 Speedway in Stokes County, the Winston-Salem Journal reported.

The race owner’s “Bubba Rope” post on Facebook’s marketplace earlier this week sparked a backlash on social media and was convicted by a spokesman for Governor Roy Cooper.

“Buy your Bubba rope today for only $ 9.99 each. They come with a lifetime warranty and work great,” the post said.

The Carolina Sprint Tour posted on its Facebook page that the newspaper said it would not ride the Speedway for the rest of its season.

“We do not tolerate or support the comments and posts that were made in the past week,” says an online post.

A specific company also said it would cut all connections to the Speedway.

NASCAR officials released a photo of the rope on Thursday, which was found in Wallace’s garage stand on Sunday and triggered a federal investigation that found it had been there since October. The incident occurred less than two weeks after NASCAR, at Wallace’s urging, banned the Confederate flag from its venues and races.
