Injured Raiders star John Bateman is considering two attractive deals for 2021 and beyond after informing Canberra on Tuesday that he will be leaving at the end of the season.

There were also reports connecting Bateman with the dragons to replace Newcastle-bound Tyson Frizell.
The 26-year-old is likely to return to Wigan to reunite with his 10-year-old daughter Millie and the rest of his family living in England.
However, he made no secret of the fact that he wanted to earn as much as possible for his daughter in Australia and be over $ 800,000 a year after a deal, making Canterbury-Bankstown very much in the running.

The Raiders confirmed Bateman’s exit on Tuesday and put months of uncertainty and rumors into bed about the future of the current Dally M Second Rower of the year.
Coach Ricky Stuart is sad to have lost Bateman, but admits that he saw it coming and is happy that speculation has ended.
He also thumped Bateman’s new manager Isaac Moses, who is currently involved in his own drama.
“It would always happen. I am proud of the club that they have created a schedule, ”he said.
“We have a really strong squad here at the club, and then the players are pulled out the way John really disappointed me.
“We made John a very good offer to his English manager last year and then to his new manager. It was a very good deal.
“And the words, ‘You are getting closer,’ I thought, were disrespectful to (CEO) Don and the club, and that day I knew we wouldn’t keep John, so we had to spend the money.
“It’s really disappointing, John is a really big part of the squad and losing him really disappointed me.”

Bateman has not played this season due to a sustained shoulder injury. He is on the sidelines a further 10 weeks ago, so that he only has a handful of games left without any final games, but is determined to get back on the field as soon as possible.
