The Brisbane Broncos may have trouble finding – and winning – points this season, but have had no trouble finding critics after five consecutive losses.
But skipper Alex Glenn has spoken out against the flood of sentencing his team has faced with his problems on the field and has campaigned on social media to defend his fighting teammates.

“Everyone has the right to have their own opinion about us, but never think we are happy with the loss,” he wrote in the post.
“You think it hurts when you see us lose 5 games in a row? (sic) Try surfacing every day, working your ass off to prepare yourself well, and things still aren’t going our way at night. Then you have to deal with the criticism left and right from the media, viewers and fans.
“We understand that we are not playing well, but we are not giving up.”
Glenn continued to speak out against NRL fans who used social media to harass players about their efforts on the field.
“Before you quickly judge and clear out your anger on social media, put yourself in someone else’s shoes and think about the mental state of people and the potential impact on those you want to share your thoughts with,” he wrote.
“I will always defend my friends and others who are victims of bullying.”
He also provided the article with “#itaintweaktospeak #stopsocialmediabullying”.

Glenn also paid tribute to loyal fans who supported the team despite their current problems.
“Ps THANKS to our fans who showed up at Suncorp on Saturday evening to support us and to our fans who stood by us during the lows. (Sic) We feel you and see you, you are the real MVP and if we jump back it will be for you. #Bronxnation ”
